Eclampsia is defined as new onset of seizures or coma in a woman with pre-eclampsia after 20 weeks of gestation.1 Pre- eclampsia is defined as new onset hypertension (more than 140/90 mmHg) along with other signs of organ damage after 20 weeks of pregnancy2. The incidence 3of eclampsia in India is reported to be 0.179- 3.7 %. This is a case of elderly primigravida with eclampsia, with altered sensorium admitted in the hospital with bilateral crepitations in chest, with GCS score of 5 (E1 V2 M2) with BP on admission 170/100 mmHg. Urine dipstick showed protein 2+, os was closed and the patient was not in labour. She was given Inj. Magnesium sulphate immediately, moist oxygen inhalation and sent to OT after resuscitation. She undergone LSCS and sent to HDU. This case is special as the mother was admitted with near-miss morbidity, who survived and was discharged after 3 weeks of treatment and observation in HDU.
